SEMINAR INTERNATIONAL BAHASA INGGRIS

Program studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Unisma pada hari Kamis tanggal 14 Maret 2013, jam 08.00 WIB – 11.30 WIB di Gedung Seminar Oesman Mansoer  akan menyelenggarakan Seminar International dengan teman “Profiling Professional EFL Teachers” dan “Writing for International Publication”. Secara khusus Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris mengundang pembicara dari America yaitu Prof. Kim Norman, Ph.D dari California State University, Fullerton , Amerika dan Drs. H. Junaidi Mistar, M.Pd. Ph.D dari Unisma Indonesia. Seminar ini diadakan untuk memberikan pencerahan di bidang publikasi ilmiah di jurnal internasional dan mempersiapkan calon-calon guru professional dalam bidang pendidikan bahasa Inggris. Kim Norman, Ph.D

Kim Norman is an Associate Professor of Education at California State University, Fullerton. She began her career teaching elementary school students in multilingual urban and suburban settings. Currently, she equips elementary school teachers to teach children (K-8) how to communicate at high levels through reading and writing. Kim’s research interests include the development of teacher knowledge, language and literacy. Kim Norman joined the faculty in 1998 after receiving her Ph.D. from Stanford University in Language, Literacy and Culture. Her area of expertise is in teacher education, instructional methodology, and curriculum issues associated with literacy education. Her research interests include teacher knowledge, and the influence of language and literacy in the development of problem solving and communication. She has had articles published in national journals such as Teachers College Record and most recently contributed to Learning to Teach Reading: Setting the Research Agenda. She presents regularly at professional meetings including the American Educational Research Association, International Reading Association, and California Reading Association. Dr. Norman frequently teaches courses in Elementary Reading and Language Arts Methods and Educational Foundations as part of the Multiple Subject Credential Program. She also teaches Educational Research and the Study of Teaching in the Master’s Degree Program. She taught elementary school students in multilingual urban and suburban settings before entering higher education.
